My agent called and said that Madonna was looking for models and hip hop dancers for her upcoming concert tour. I’m not a hip hop dancer and so I wasn’t going to go but my agent said that I could go and audition just for the model position. So I decided to go.

When I got to the audition they were teaching everyone a hip hop dance routine. I explained that I was there for the modeling position but they said that Madonna needed people that looked like models that could also hip hop.

I almost left but heard that Madonna was inside auditioning everyone and so I decided to go ahead and audition so that I’d have the chance to meet her. After all, I AM a dancer, how hard could this hip hop thing be? Well, it wasn’t as easy as what I'd hoped!

It was my turn to go in, with five others, and audition for Madonna. I figured I’d just do the best I could. Madonna was inside sitting on the floor about ten feet from us and dressed very casually. She was very nice. She said hello to us all, explained what she wanted and then had us dance. I have to admit that I looked pretty bad trying to do the routine and Madonna confirmed my feelings. She motioned her assistant over, pointed in my direction and laughed. She wasn’t being rude, just pointing out something very funny…me trying to hip hop. Needless to say I didn’t get the job but I did get to meet Madonna and..
